So I must admit, for the roller coaster ride that Brooklyn Boy was. I was excited to find out to see how many nominations and wins it got this year at the Masque Awards...we got 7 nominations, and 3 wins.

Out of the 13 awards that are given, it was nice to see that we were nominated for about half of them. (And yes I guess I will toot my own horn that I was nominated for my acting bit, although I probably shouldn't have been in the leading actress category)...

Character study

So I'm studying my lines for Alison, the character that I will be playing in Brooklyn Boy.

First time I read the script I had the following adjectives to describe the character:
blonde, young, ambitious

Now that I have gone over the lines I couple of times I think pretentious. But in my opinion it seems like the author is making all the people from California seem "pretentious". She seems fake. She is definitely ambitious. It seems like she wants to get to the top anyway that she can. I don't picture the "blonde" part anymore. She is definitely smart. But she seems more street smart than book smart. She knows how to schmooze.

For some weird reason I'm having issues with all the times she says "like". Its almost like a Valley girl. Not a true Valley girl, but I can feel a faint one in there.

I am excited to sit down for the read through tomorrow...

So I love a good romance novel every now and then, but now Sarah has me hooked on hokey vampire romance novels!

I've been reading some really corny ones by Kathy Love, about Vampires who find true love.. and I just started another one Sarah lent me, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer....and it's sooo good! I feel like a dumb teenager all over again :)

Since it seems like a large majority of people already have IPODs, I realize there is probably no way I can get $70 for the one I received as a sales gift on Thursday....I think I will knock it down to $50....what do people think?

So it sure has been a crazy week. Work sure has been nuts.

So Thursday evening my company had a fancy dinner over at Barbacoa. It was also a silent & live auction for our salesguys. Basically, if the guys hit a certain number of goals over a certain amout of time, they were invited to this dinnner & auction and they had a certain amount of "fun money" to bet on items.
So I've been busting my butt on this thing all day and was really looking forward to the dinner part because I had been invited to this thing by the Wine Manager like 3 weeks ago.

So when I get there, our supplier rep that was putting this thing on hands me an IPOD shuffle...and I said did you want me to put this somewhere? And he said no, that's yours to keep! He also gave one to my boss, he said they were "thank-you's" for all the hard work that we do.

Holy crap! Of course I didn't say anything about already having one, so I am going to sell this one. I posted an ad on craigslist and I am currently selling it for $70...know anyone that wants an IPOD shuffle?

Must get up and do something productive today!!!!
